Interstuhl is an independent owner-managed family company. Our products are characterised by their excellent ergonomics, most modern technique, excellent design and a very high degree of awareness of the environment. At our site in Meßstetten-Tieringen in the Swabian Alb, we develop, produce and sell seating-, conference- and communication-solutions. These include swivel chairs and swivel armchairs, conference equipment as well as equipment for waiting and reception zones of the Interstuhl brand and work seats, standing seats and chairs for laboratory, ESD and clean-room areas under the label bimos.

Reputable companies like Audi, BASF, Bayer, the Federal Employment Agency, Daimler, Deutsche Bahn, Deutsche Postbank, Deutsche Telekom, EADS, Merck, Opel, Sanofi, Siemens, VW as well as BBVA in Spain, Boygues Telecom in France, Sanitas in Switzerland, Unicredit in Italy, the University of Groningen in the Netherlands, Zayed University in Abu Dhabi etc. are among our clients.

In 1993, we were the first company to become certified according to DIN EN ISO 9001. In 1994, we were recognised by the Ministry of the Environment, Climate Protection and the Energy Sector of the Federal State of Baden-Wuerttemberg for “outstanding performance in the promotion of environmental protection on a company level and in the environmental-orientated management”. This performance was confirmed by being awarded the Environmental Prize of the State of Baden-Wuerttemberg for social engagement and particular entrepreneurial performance. Also we were one of the first companies in this branch of industry to receive the EMAS certification. Our products are forerunners in the certification with the “Blaue Engel” (Blue Angel).

We first met Mr Fischer when he worked as an environmental verifier on behalf of the LGA InterCert GmbH. Since 1999, he has validated our company according to EMAS every year. This includes the certification according to DIN EN ISO 14001.

Precisely, yet with a sense of proportion, he verifies the extensive validation requirements of EMAS. We very much appreciate his correct and transparent decisions. He has always explained the complex requirements of the standard in a understandable way and has given examples.

His practical experience from numerous validations and certifications creates a certain tension in our company. We can confirm that audits are beneficial to our enterprise.

This year, we decided to get our energy management system certified according to DIN EN ISO 50001 by Peter Fischer Managementberatung. We require precise work in the examination of all energy aspects, consumption data and their effects and influence as well as in relation to the energetic goals of our company.

As Mr Fischer has a good understanding of our integrated management system, he aligns the audit to the system. Mr Fischer performs the audits in a highly professional manner. His quick perception and his deep knowledge of legal requirements are remarkable. The conversations with staff on all levels have always been fair and objective. We appreciate his trustworthiness, his neutral attitude and objectivity.

We prepared a reference for Mr Fischer under our former name Kreiskrankenhaus Eichstätt on 16th August 2002 which we are glad to confirm. We have been working with Mr Fischer since 1998. Following the consulting related to DIN EN ISO 14001, to DIN EN ISO 9001 at a later stage and our successful certification we have independently pursued an ever increasing number of issues.

Mr Fischer has regularly supported us by internal audits in technical services and in the business areas. He has performed inhouse trainings on waste management, shipping of hazardous materials, i.e. diagnostic samples, and on the implementation of the Operational Safety Ordinance (Betriebssicherheitsverordnung). He also regularly chairs the Environment Circle in which the objectives and consumption data are presented and discussed.

His services have always been up-to-date and tailored to our individual needs. The contents have been appropriate for the respective issues and the training material has always been illustrative and easy to understand.

The environmental database of Peter Fischer Managementberatung allows us to keep an overview of our more than 150 meters. From this database the complex data are visualised in clear diagrams. This supports us in the planning and implementation of technical changes as well as in the preparation for the certifications of our site.

We have been using the legal database for many years. The database only includes regulations which affect our hospital. New and amended regulations are shown on top and can be filtered based on the legal area. Mr Fischer has always swiftly and competently answered any questions regarding changes.

We appreciate Mr Fischer as a very competent and trustworthy, consistently objective and absolutely neutral contact partner. His quick perception and forward-looking approach guarantee a very good cooperation. As major changes are underway in the hospital sector we hope to be able to maintain our good quality and environmental management system. Mr Fischer has been working as an external consultant  on the development of the environmental management system with the Kreiskrankenhaus Eichstätt since 1998 and has demonstrated his expertise and competence. In the final phase prior to the certification of the quality and environmental management system Mr Fischer also advised and trained our staff.

Mr Fischer explained the requirements of DIN EN ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and EMAS to all our staff in a clear and practice-orientated fashion. The parts of the manual and the instructions which were prepared with him are short and concise.

Mr Fischer prepared consistently efficient meetings for us. His determined moderation and the use of the most modern technical devices facilitated these tasks. Following the certification, Mr Fischer chaired the quality circle for the implementation of the medical product legislation, the circle on the requirements of the hazardous materials law and the environmental circle.

In cooperation with Mr Fischer we conduct internal quality management and environmental management audits and discuss with him the formulation of objectives and measures aimed at improvement. Mr Fischer effectively supports us in external audits (KTQ, DIN ISO 9001, DIN EN ISO 14001).

Mr Fischer informs us regularly on new and amended regulations and processes these regulations and current topics in details. Since he always has the current hospital literature and all relevant regulations, workshops can be conducted without requiring a long preparation.

The cooperation with Mr Fischer has always been positive and has not given any cause for criticism. We are looking forward to continuing the cooperation and make use of his services.
